Sad to see store go

AtascaderoMarch 4, 2014

I am devastated that the Grocery Discount Center in Atascadero is closing. I shop there at least once a week, and purchase most of my groceries there. They had organic products such as cereals, shampoos and salad dressings, etc. at a quarter the cost of health food stores. They had wonderful specialty steaks and other frozen foods that a chain store would not have, and at very low prices.

I am so sorry that people who went to the dollar store didn’t check the products that were available next door; they would have been very pleasantly surprised. My grocery bill will now at least double. This is an example of how a local business cannot survive when a chain store comes in, even if the quality and prices of the local business are fabulous.
