Eagles claim third place as team in Central Coast Invitational tourney

Conner Sandman and Jordan MacMurphey both carded 3-over-par 75s to lead Arroyo Grande High’s boys golf team to a third-place team finish in the Central Coast Invitational tournament Monday at Santa Maria Country Club.

Also for Arroyo Grande, Tristan Bergmann-Lagano shot a 78, Raleigh Deering fired an 83, and Jack Avrit posted an 86. The Eagles were third with a team total of 397.

Atascadero checked in at 441. The Greyhounds were led by rounds of 83 from Donnie Hedrick and Brandon Erickson, followed by teammates Ryan O’Connell (90), Blaine Aguilar (92) and Hugh Bunte (93).

The team title went to Clovis North with a total of 373.

Pioneer Valley edges Mission Prep in golf

Matthew Lima shot a match-best 41 to lead the Panthers past the Royals, 233-249, in a nine-hole golf match at Blacklake Resort.

Stephen Orradre led Mission Prep with a 42, and the next four Royals to score were Matthew Abbate (47), Robert Ball (51), Elizabeth Talley (52) and Gavin Stoors (57).
