A magnitude 4.1 earthquake centered 23 miles northwest of San Simeon happened at 10:52 a.m. Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey reports.

The jolt was felt from Santa Cruz to San Luis Obispo, according to postings on the USGS website shortly after the quake.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office said no calls reporting injuries or damage had come in, and that the state emergency services offices had called to say there was no danger of a tsunami.
