Abortion opponents set up near Templeton school

A small group of anti-abortion advocates set up near Templeton Middle School on Friday morning as part of a nationwide effort to reach out to students.

The group, Abolish Human Abortion, announced on its Facebook page that it had representatives set up near 30 schools nationwide, some holding signs, others offering to hand out pamphlets.

In Templeton, three people set up near Vineyard Drive and Old County Road, near the middle school. In response, the district met with the demonstrators to review where they could and could not operate legally and reminded them not to directly contact students or staff unless they requested information.

Parents of the students were informed of the demonstration via robo-call.
