Feline Network gives spay, neuter vouchers

Feline Network has certificates to spay and neuter cats (worth $60 toward a spay and $40 toward a neuter) available for residents of San Luis Obispo, the communities in South County, Los Osos and Morro Bay.

Vouchers can be redeemed at vet offices countywide.

If you are aware of feral cats in San Luis Obispo, the South County, Los Osos or Morro Bay, Feline Network can offer assistance and/or advice for trapping the cats for the purpose of spay and neuter.

Spay Day this Sunday for 120 cats

North County Paws Cause will team up with North County Animal Hospital, Paso Petcare and volunteers to spay, neuter and vaccinate more than 120 feral, stray and ranch cats on Sunday as part of Spay Day.

The public is invited to help with donations. It only costs $10 to pay for a spay or neuter.

North County Paws Cause is also seeking donations of cat food, blankets, towels, cat carriers and cleaning supplies.

Horse adventures during the spring

Adventures with Horses will hold spring sessions from 9:30 a.m. to noon on March 8, April 12 and May 10.

Children ages 5 to 12 are invited to meet, greet, groom and walk calm and gentle equines. Children and their parents will enjoy learning about basic equine manners, body language, safety skills and round-pen activities.

Parks4Pups Spring Fling celebration

Parks4Pups will hold a Spring Fling celebration in honor of the fifth anniversary of Vineyard Dog Park from 9:30 a.m. to noon on March 8. Activities include an Amateur Dog Fetch Competition. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and competition begins at 10:30 a.m. The entry fee is $3 per dog. There will be several divisions based on weight or age, with several awards in each division. Other activities include free family photos and refreshments.

The North County Humane Society will hold a low-cost microchip clinic for $15 per dog or cat. Proceeds benefit Vineyard Dog Park of Templeton. The event will be held at Vineyard Dog Park, 1010 Semillon Lane in Templeton. For more information, visit or call 239-4437.

Spring animal camp

Woods Humane Society will hold an Animal Action Camp for students ages 12 to 14 on March 24 through 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Camp costs $250 and includes a daily healthy snack, field trips, camp shirt and all supplies for the week. Spots are filled on a first-come, firstserve basis.
