Open opportunities

San Luis ObispoFebruary 20, 2014

With all the “war on jobs” outrage about Obamacare prompting employees to leave jobs they have stayed in only to keep their health insurance, no one seems to point out that this will open up job opportunities for the unemployed. In fact, encouraging early retirement has often been suggested as a means of fighting unemployment, not causing it.

Moreover, many who leave these jobs will become self-employed or seek new jobs that don’t offer health insurance but are more compatible with their talents and interests. Probably a great number of these people will augment their annual income, thereby increasing the taxes they contribute to government coffers.
