Media bias at work

CayucosFebruary 18, 2014

Have you ever noticed that when a Republican politician is involved in a scandal, it is pointed out which political party they are affiliated with? Just the opposite with a Democrat.

Case in point, ex-mayor Ray Nagin of New Orleans was found guilty of 20 of 21 counts of accepting bribes, and the fact that he was a Democrat was not mentioned. Not in the newspaper or on the major news networks. Hmm, media bias? I think there is, and I find it sad.

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
