Stabbing suspect arrested in Paso Robles

Paso Robles police arrested a man early Saturday morning in connection to a stabbing earlier this week.

Officers located James Daniel Elliott, 35, at 4:15 a.m. in the 2800 block of Park Street in Paso Robles, according to Lt. Tim Murphy of the Paso Robles Police Department.

Elliott allegedly fled on foot, only to be arrested without further incident in the 2800 block of Spring Street, Murphy said.

Elliott was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, threatening a crime with the intent to terrorize and witness intimidation, all felonies, as well as resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

Elliott was being held Saturday at County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Paso Robles police are searching for a suspect they believe stabbed another man Thursday night at a house in Paso Robles.

Police received a call from Twin Cities Community Hospital at about 10 p.m. Thursday reporting that a 29-year-old man had arrived with a stab wound in the torso.

Witnesses reported seeing the victim and the suspect — identified as James Daniel Elliot, 35 — arguing inside a house in the 2800 block of Park Street, which escalated into a physical confrontation. Witnesses said Elliot stabbed the other man and then fled, according to police.

The victim received emergency surgery Friday afternoon, according to a Paso Robles Police Department news release.
