Protest Gaga water waste

NipomoFebruary 14, 2014

When I read the front-page article Feb. 9 stating Lady Gaga was taping a water conservation public service announcement while at Hearst Castle I was, at first, impressed. But after finishing the article, I was disgusted to learn the Neptune Pool will be refilled for her appearance. This beautiful pool loses 3,000 to 5,000 gallons of water a day to leakage and evaporation.

With California in a severe drought, the state had decided to drain the pool in a water conservation effort.

Now it is being refilled for this? Where is this water coming from, and who is paying for it? Residents are being restricted with their water use, and letting their yards go without irrigation in water conservation efforts.

Shame on you, Lady Gaga, and the state of California for wasting our precious water. California residents should unite in protest of this ridiculous waste of water.
