San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s deputies and Atascadero Police Department officers were searching an Atascadero neighborhood Thursday night after a male juvenile reportedly fled while police tried to serve an arrest warrant, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Officers were trying to serve the arrest warrant when “one of the subjects they were attempting to contact may have fled on foot,” Detective Cmdr. Ron Hastie said.

Police were searching the area of Rosario and Olmeda avenues. As of 11 p.m., officers had not found the suspect.

Aside from the search, the arrest warrant was not unusual, Hastie said. Hastie did not know the reason for the arrest warrant.
