SLO County weather forecast for the week of February 10

Here is this week’s weather forecast by PG&E meteorologist John Lindsey.

Weather report

Heavy rain spread across the Bay Area on Saturday and Sunday, with more than 10 inches reported at Mount Tamalpais in Marin County. In Sonoma County, Petaluma had more than 5 inches while Guerneville got more than 9 inches. The Charles Schulz-Sonoma County Airport reported more than 6 inches.

In San Luis Obispo County, rainfall amounts were mostly in the quarter-inch range.

Subtropical moisture will continue to flow into San Luis Obispo County through this morning, producing relatively warm overnight temperatures along with areas of fog, drizzle and light rain showers, interrupted with periods of clearing. Snow levels are hovering at about 7,000 feet. Mostly clear and dry weather will return this afternoon.

Gentle to moderate (8- to 18-mph) and at times gusty Santa Lucia winds during the night and morning hours will give cooler night and morning temperatures but warmer afternoon highs. Generally fair weather is forecast through next week.

Today’s surf report

Increasing afternoon northwesterly winds starting today will generate 4- to 6-foot northwesterly (300-degree, deep-water) sea and swell (with a 5-to 11-second period) this afternoon through Friday.

A 3- to 5-foot northwesterly (300-degree, deep- water) swell (with an 8- to 11-second period) will develop along our coastline next Sunday and Monday.

Seawater temperatures

Seawater temperatures will decrease to 53 and 55 degrees Tuesday and will remain at this level through next Sunday.
