Hernandez pummels Rivera, keeps WBC title

Huixquilucan, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Adrian Hernandez retained his WBC light flyweight title with a third-round technical knockout of Janiel Rivera Saturday night.

Hernandez (29-3-1, 18 KOs), who was coming off a fourth-round TKO of Atsushi Kakutani on Aug. 31, hasn't lost since Dec. 23, 2011. Saturday's fight was stopped at 1:37 of the third round. It was the fourth title defense for Hernandez.

Rivera (10-2) was participating in his first championship fight.
