A man suspected of stabbing someone at an Atascadero restaurant was apprehended Friday afternoon after wrecking his vehicle in Morro Bay.

Shortly before 4 p.m., the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a stabbing at Last Stage West, 15050 Morro Road, between Morro Bay and Atascadero. When paramedics arrived, the victim was reportedly “conscious and talking,” said Tony Cipolla, a spokesperson with the Sheriff’s Office.

After the stabbing, the suspect drove off, toward Morro Bay, as sheriff’s deputies responded. The alleged stabber was later involved in a collision at 490 Atascadero Road, near Highway 1.

Information was not available on the names of the people involved or the events that led to the stabbing. Deputies are also sorting out the extent of injuries at both the restaurant and the crash site.
