Letter to the Editor

Newspaper’s priorities

Arroyo GrandeFebruary 3, 2014

Once again I am disappointed and disgusted with the editorial board of The Tribune.

Attacking a political candidate for the way she/he sends a message to the voters, who are entitled to know who their candidates are, is itself an attack on the candidate’s basic First Amendment rights.

The Tribune wants society to respect its First Amendment rights, but it denies and wants to restrict it to others.

With all the social problems we have in our communities, your time could be better spent reporting on them than giving out the phony brickbat/ bouquet awards. It is obvious that The Tribune is already in the process of picking and supporting its appointed novice supervisor candidate by attacking the other candidate.

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
