After the Mustangs (12-8, 6-1 Big West) led 43-35 at halftime, the Aggies (8-11, 3-3) kept things close throughout the second half. A layup by Taylor McGuire pulled UC Davis within 63-62 with 6:51 remaining.

Ale, a junior from Carson, made 9 of 12 foul shots and three 3-pointers in 23 minutes. Despite shooting 2 of 10 from the floor and 0 for 5 on 3s, junior guard Ariana Elegado contributed with nine rebounds and a game-high eight assists.
