The Cal Poly women’s tennis team didn’t lose a set Sunday as the Mustangs rolled to their first team dual match win of the spring season with a 7-0 home victory over UC Santa Cruz.

In singles, Cal Poly (1-1) got 6-0, 6-0 sweeps from Jennifer Cornea, Kathryn Webb and Ane McPike. The Mustangs also got singles victories from Emily Gibbens (6-3, 6-2), Hannah Stone (6-3, 6-1) and Mika Padmanabhan (6-1, 6-0).

The Mustangs clinched the doubles point with wins from McPike and Cornea (6-2), and Padmanbhan and Webb (6-0).

Struggles continue for Cal Poly wrestling team

Northern Colorado’s Trey Andrews won a 6-2 decision over Britain Longmire at 125 pounds in the final bout Sunday to clinch the Bears a 19-17 home win in a dual meet against visiting Cal Poly at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion in Greeley, Colo.

Cal Poly (3-5) scored points with a pin in 1 minute, 4 seconds from Devon Lotito (133), a 15-6 major decision from Kyle Chené (149), a 15-5 major decision from Dominic Kastl (174) and a 6-4 decision from Nicolas Johnson (197).
