The Cal Poly wrestling team lost 29-12 at Wyoming on Friday.

Wyoming got off to an early 23-3 start against Cal Poly (3-4) after a pair of technical falls, one fall and one major decision. 

Shane Woods had one of the technical falls for the Cowboys (2-6) against the Mustangs’ Nicolas Johnson at 197 pounds. 

Leland Pfeifer recorded the major decision against Cal Poly’s Spencer Empey at 285.  

Devon Lotito (133) earned his fourth fall of the season for the Mustangs, beating Brent Havlik.  

Both Blake and Dominic Kastl earned victories at the dual meet. Blake Kastl beat Jake Elliot of Wyoming (149) and Dominic beat Brent Havlik (174).    

Cal Poly men’s tennis falls to Lobos

The Cal Poly’s men’s tennis team lost 5-2 at New Mexico.

The Mustangs got out to a good start as they won the doubles point with two victories in the doubles matches. 

Cal Poly’s Marco Comuzzo and Matt Thomson beat Hayden Sabatka and Rodolfo Jaaugegui 8-6, and Naveen Beasley and Gannon Daynes defeated Mads Hegelund and Andy Van Der Vyver on the third court 8-4. 

The Mustangs were then outplayed in singles as the Lobos took five out of six matches. Corey Pang was the only Cal Poly singles winner with a 6-3, 6-3 win over James Hignett.
