UPDATE 2:21 p.m.: PG&E has reported that power was fully restored to all San Luis Obispo customers at 1:50 p.m. Monday.

Original story: Power is close to being fully restored following an outage affecting parts of San Luis Obispo early Monday morning.

According to a Pacific Gas and Electric Co. representative, the outage occurred at approximately 7:04 a.m. and hit an area near San Luis Obispo High School and Highway 1, affecting 2,776 customers.

As of 11 a.m., 82 customers remained without power.

An investigation revealed the cause to be a malfunction with a connector that caused a power line to fail.

PG&E says power is estimated to be fully restored by 2 p.m.
