STALEY — San Luis Obispo Police Department

The San Luis Obispo Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in a sexual assault case involving an alleged juvenile victim.

Since October, detectives with the department have been investigating allegations against Vincente O’Campo, 34, who is believed to be an undocumented immigrant, according to Lieutenant John Bledsoe.

O’Campo is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot, 8-inches tall, and weighing about 150 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.

During the investigation, the alleged victim reported being sexually molested for the past three years by O’Campo, beginning when she was 12 years old. O’Campo was the boyfriend of the victim’s mother and was living in the home with the two for several years.

According to a release by the Police Department, O’Campo fled San Luis Obispo before he could be questioned by police.

He is believed to be traveling in a 1993 red-over-purple Jeep Cherokee with the license plate 4VXW152. Authorities say that it is possible O’Campo fled to Southern California or into Mexico.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 549-STOP.
