Both reactors at Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant are operating at full power.

Operators at the plant announced Wednesday morning that Unit 2 has been returned to full power after being at half power for five days in order to perform cleaning of the unit’s ocean water intake tunnels.

Cleaning of the unit’s ocean water tunnels is done regularly to prevent buildup of ocean debris and biological growth in the tunnels, said Blair Jones, PG&E spokesman. During the cleaning, the other unit continued to operate at full power.
