Generous support

Morro Bay Community Foundation presidentJanuary 14, 2014

The Morro Bay Community Foundation was awarded a generous grant of $2,000 from Central Coast Funds for Children. Like CCFC, the MBCF is a nonprofit, has no paid staff and all activities are run by volunteers. Both organizations raise funds through private and business donations, and special fundraising events.

The MBCF provides recreational and sports scholarships for children from Cayucos, Los Osos and Morro Bay. This helps the children’s families pay 40 percent to 60 percent of the fees to participate in the recreational youth sports and enrichment programs through the Morro Bay Recreation and Parks Department.

We know that CCFC understands, and is equally committed to our motto of “Every Child Deserves Recreational Opportunities.” Because of the support from CCFC and the greater San Luis Obispo County community, the MBCF will meet our 2014 goals of increasing the amount of funding for families and the number of child participants in youth sports and enrichment.

The Morro Bay Community Foundation Board gives a heartfelt thanks to Central Coast Funds for Children. Your support to the MBCF and the children of our community makes a difference. We are truly grateful for the CCFC’s generous support.
