Cal Poly will soon be offering free tax return assistance to individuals and families who make less than $50,000 per year.

The university’s Orfalea College of Business, located off California Boulevard, will offer the services starting Feb. 1.

All returns are prepared by IRS-certified accounting students at Cal Poly, and they’re reviewed by certified professionals.

Forms for preparation include 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, 540, 540A, 540EZ, and other supporting documents.

Spanish-speaking preparers also will be available.

The program will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday from Feb. 1 through March 15. Those attending are asked to arrive before 2 p.m. to allow for adequate time for accurate service.

The assistance will be offered at Cal Poly’s third floor of the Business Building No. 3. Parking is free except in spaces marked “Staff 24-7.”
