Pismo has a lot to offer

Pismo BeachJanuary 13, 2014

I recently read a review about Pismo Beach indicating it wasn’t sexy and shiny enough for its young critic. For those who know and love the funky little beach town, that is the highest compliment one could possibly offer.

Pismo Beach is a laidback, California coastal town better known for surfers and dune buggies than executives and limousines. It’s a place where families are welcome (even the four-legged members) and can enjoy each other without going into debt. The downtown is colorful, casual and peppered with great places to grab a bite and browse for interesting what-nots on the way to the beach.

Don’t get me wrong, with Cal Poly nearby and plenty of venues for the arts, this is not a place devoid of sophistication. In fact, Pismo is only a short drive to some of the world’s most picturesque vineyards and wineries.

With all it has to offer, it is no wonder its attraction spreads from California to Canada and east to New York. It’s the kind of place you come to with friends and family to shed the stress and soak in your relationships, as well as the sun.
