Kochs’ bribery

AtascaderoJanuary 13, 2014

The Tribune’s printing of the Washington Post story on the Koch brothers was a courageous, necessary exposé of how the billionaire Koch brothers buy elections and cover their tracks. Millions of dollars are used to buy one lie after another to denigrate any candidate who won’t accept their bribes.

With the complex sophisticated structure and their billions of dollars (literally), they are destroying our democracy by taking away our right to have clean, transparent elections that voters can trust.

Our Constitution is clear regarding bribery. It sits next to treason. See Article 2, Section 4: “The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States shall be removed from office on impeachment for and conviction of Treason, Bribery or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

All Americans, regardless of party affiliation, have a right to be outraged with the open and hidden bribery that goes on daily in our government. Tammany Hall was mild compared to what is happening now.

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
