College Roundup: Boise State pins Cal Poly wrestling team, 35-6

Brothers Dominic and Blake Kastl were Cal Poly’s only winners in a 35-6 dual meet loss to Pac-12 foe Boise State on Sunday at Mott Athletics Center.

Blake Kastl earned a 3-2 decision over Chris Castillo at 149 pounds in the opening bout, and his brother, Dominic Kastl, was an 8-2 winner over Austin Dewey at 174 pounds.

Cal Poly fell to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in Pac-12 duals.

Fischetti leads Cal Poly in diving invitational

Cal Poly men’s freshman diver Paul Fischetti placed 12th in the Bruin Diving Invitational hosted by UCLA on Sunday at Spieker Aquatics Center.

Fischetti opened by scoring a 183.6 in prelims before finishing with a 12-dive total of 355.4.

In women’s prelims, three-time All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation senior Sami McIntyre paced Cal Poly with a score of 155.25, coming in 26th. She was followed by junior Grace Greenwood (143.4), fellow seniors Meaghan O’Meara (135) and Jean Bonsall (108.75), and junior Olivia Salvatore-King (106.95).
