IQMS in Paso Robles was founded by Randy and Nancy Flamm.

Randy and Nancy Flamm, owners of IQMS in Paso Robles, have been named the city’s Roblans of the Year by the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce.

The couple will be honored Saturday at the chamber’s annual awards ceremony held at Broken Earth Winery, 5625 Highway 46 East, Paso Robles.

IQMS is a software development company that employs about 200 people worldwide. The staff of the company headquartered in Paso Robles, nearly 100 people, signed the nomination form.

In it, they cited the couple’s generosity of spirit and time and their commitment to the area. In particular, they cited their dedication to volunteerism, including work to benefit FFA, 4-H, cattlewomen’s clubs, the California Mid-State Fair, adopt-a-park programs, fireworks drives and the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County.

“I hold my head high and proud when I tell people that I work for Randy and Nancy Flamm because I’m not only working for IQMS, I’m working to create a better community,” said Jason Slater, the company’s director of automation, in his nomination letter.

Others cited their commitment to offering well-paying jobs and a dedication to keep those jobs and the company located in Paso Robles.

“Some 20 years ago when others thought a high-tech company wouldn’t last outside Silicon Valley, Randy and Nancy bucked the trend and put down roots in this area because they enjoyed the people,” said company vice president Glenn Nowak.
