K-JUG pajama drive

Central Coast Funds for ChildrenJanuary 8, 2014

Dec. 16, K-JUG radio station hosted their annual “DJs for PJs” event. Central Coast Funds for Children was privileged to be able to help coordinate the event to collect pajamas for children. More than 600 pairs of new pajamas were donated that day and then distributed before Christmas to nonprofit agencies in San Luis Obispo County.

The broadcast from the parking lot in front of Golden 1 Credit Union and J.C. Penney’s drew listeners and supporters from all over the county, and the Paso Robles region especially. K-JUG’s Suzanne Schonig orchestrated the day, and Andy Morris, Tom Casella and Pepper Daniels kept listeners advised of the needs still unfilled and any special sizes needed. All morning long, cars drove up and pajamas were handed out the window.

Christmas was surely brighter and warmer for the children who benefited from the generosity of our community. Thank you to all who donated, and thanks to K-JUG for promoting and organizing this wonderful day. Central Coast Funds for Children is proud to be associated with the 2013 “DJs for PJs” pajama drive.
