Panga deliveries

Arroyo GrandeJanuary 3, 2014

Yet another panga boat loaded with pot found abandoned. I haven’t been keeping count, but such stories seem to come up every couple of months or so.

Let’s make a wild guess and assume that such “mission failures” represent a minority of panga boat deliveries — anything else, and it would be a very poor investment to the organizers of this pot import/export business. It follows that quite a few of these missions are undetected and that our maritime border is extremely porous.

There seems to be nothing stopping almost anything being delivered in this way, all the way up to armed terrorist cells — think Mumbai in India.

Does anyone worry about this?
