Hearing on request to increase Los Osos sewer project's budget is postponed

The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors has postponed hearing a request for approval to increase the budget for the Los Osos Wastewater Project by about $4.3 million.

The request proposes adding about $2.8 million to a contract with HDR Engineering for construction management services, increasing the agreement from $6.8 million to $9.7 million.

The board also delayed a decision on approving an additional $1.4 million in design costs for Carollo Engineers, revsing that contract upward to $4.8 million.

The board directed the staff to bring the item back for discussion sometime in January after some residents complained that the item appeared on the Dec. 17 consent agenda without detailed examination.

The date for the rescheduled discussion has not yet been set.
