Aghast at Obama

Los OsosJanuary 2, 2014

I have never voted for a Republican. But I am totally aghast at what Barack Obama is getting away with. Imagine the public, congressional and media outrage if the NSA’s domestic spying was exposed during George W. Bush’s tenure. But this is Obama, the man who was bringing a new era of transparency to government. But what has he done instead? He has run slipshod over American freedoms without the media, Congress or the public demanding something be done about it. Our “Audacity of Hope” president should be censured or impeached for allowing the secret taking of America’s civil liberties.

Richard Nixon resigned because he approved a burglary. Barack Obama approved the invasion of America's privacy. Why isn’t he being held accountable? Why is he being allowed to form advisory committees instead of Congress investigating his culpability?

The media is not asking questions. Congress is doing nothing. The public is apathetic to holding responsible the man who approved secret government intrusion into the lives of millions of Americans.

Remember, James Madison said, “I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.”
