Too tipsy to drive tonight? Get a free tow home from AAA

The Automobile Club of Southern California’s “Tipsy Tow” program is offering a free tow home for people who are drunk and unable to drive this New Year’s Eve.

The program goes into effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday in San Luis Obispo County. Participants can call (800) 222-4357 for a free tow home, up to 10 miles.

Party hosts, potential passengers, bartenders and restaurant managers are encouraged to call. Participants do not have to be AAA members to use the service. Callers simply need to tell the AAA operator that they are in need of a “Tipsy Tow” and a driver will be dispatched.
