Helping seniors

Home Instead Senior CareDecember 30, 2013

On behalf of the staff at Home Instead Senior Care, I would like to thank everyone who helped with this year’s very successful Be a Santa to a Senior program.

With support from generous shoppers, clients and customers of Leopold, Murphy and Main in San Luis Obispo, the San Luis Obispo Surgery Center and KSBY Studios, we were able to collect more than 600 gifts for local seniors who otherwise might have been overlooked this holiday season.

We also would like to thank the many volunteers who lent a hand, including those at the Senior Nutrition Program, Central Coast Senior Center and Peoples’ Self-Help Housing who shared their time to either collect, wrap or deliver the gifts to 200 area seniors, many of whom struggle to make ends meet. Thanks to all those who helped us brighten the holidays for our local seniors and truly making a difference in our community.

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
