Oh, what fun it was to be at the 21st annual San Miguel Electric Christmas Lights Parade and Craft Faire!
Vendors vended and happy people strolled up and down the town, visiting merchants and greeting each other. It was a beautiful day.
Winners of the chili cook-off were: first place, Craig Rambo; second place, Melanie Helgeson; third place, Mikey Sanderson. There were 28 entries in the parade! First place was awarded to Refuge Church with their Reason for the Season float; second place went to Folklorico Cachanilla with their spectacular costumes and beautiful dancing; third place went to the Paso Robles Model A Club with a long line of well-restored vintage automobiles.
Honorable mention was earned by the Lillian Larsen School Hornets, SLO Four-Wheelers ‘4-Wheeling Fun’ and The Estrella Warbirds Museum.
Santa spent a busy afternoon touring the neighborhoods with his cheery laugh and handfuls of candy. After the parade he greeted each child who came to the firehouse to see him.
The Parade Committee sends a big “thank you” out to everyone who helped in any way to make the day a big success. We in San Miguel wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
The San Miguel Roll-off Company will pick up on Thursday of this week and next week due to the holidays. For information on San Miguel events and history, visit www.discoversanmiguel.com
