Avila Beach Community Services District names new GM

The Avila Beach Community Services District has chosen a general manager to replace John Wallace, who last summer announced plans to retire from that position but remain as district engineer.

District office manager Kathryn Richardson will succeed Wallace, starting Jan. 1.

In naming Richardson, district board president Peter Kelley said the board was pleased to appoint someone who is a lifelong resident of San Luis Obispo County. When Wallace announced his plan to step down as general manager, the district conducted a statewide search for his replacement before picking Richardson.

The Community Services District provides water, sewer, street lighting, fire protection, and trash services to the town of Avila Beach.
