Firefighters from Five Cities Fire Department put out a blaze in a laundry room at the Grover Beach Inn before it spread to any residential rooms on Tuesday.

The Grover Beach Inn on 5th Street in Grover Beach is a longterm residential building with families living in some of the units, according to a fire department press release. No one was injured in the incident.

Firefighters responded to a report of the fire at about 4:30 p.m. and found a commercial dryer and surrounding linens on fire. The blaze was extinguished and rooms in the building were aired out and the utilities reconnected so that residents could return that evening.

The cause of the Christmas Eve fire was unknown, the release said.
