Minority pandering

Los OsosDecember 19, 2013

Re: Joe Tarica’s column on the fraternity theme party “Colonial Bros and Nava-Hos.” Is it any wonder that The Tribune has been reduced to nothing more than a three-page flyer? Trib, could you please hire at least one token conservative who writes about issues that are relevant? Just one?

It seems to me that there is a much larger issue in all of this. Joe, while he was so submerged in racial sensitivities, utterly ignored the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America: freedom of speech.

Joe did not hesitate to exercise his right to freedom of speech in his salacious interest in the theme party, nor did The Tribune fail to exercise its right to freedom of the press when printing this unctuous story pandering to minorities who are laughing at its transparency.

Readers please correct me if I am wrong. As far as I know, one does not leave his First Amendment rights at the door upon entering a college campus.

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
