NRC to discuss Diablo Canyon safety at Wednesday meeting

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a public meeting Wednesday to discuss its safety assessment of Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Luis Obispo. The meeting was rescheduled from Oct. 16 due to the shutdown of the federal government.

The current findings are that the plant operated safely during the year. In addition to discussing the findings, NRC staff will available for questions and to take comments from the public.
