Letter to the Editor

Proved his own point

Los OsosDecember 15, 2013

I am writing in response to Joseph Codispoti’s letter that was published Thursday (“Start at home”). I want to make it clear that Amnesty International does not exempt the United States from its actions. In fact, two of the Prisoners of Conscience we are helping with our Write-a-Thon are being held by the U.S. government — one in Guantanamo and one in Louisiana.

However, I do resent being called “brainwashed.” Mr. Codispoti asserts that “the American public does not allow free speech.” By the tone of his letter, he has proved his own point.
