Get ready to get filthy, John Waters fans.

Waters, the Baltimore filmmaker, author and artist behind “Hairspray” and “Pink Flamingos,” will perform the latest version of his one-man show, "This Filthy World: Filthier & Dirtier" in February in San Luis Obispo.

In the spoken-word show, the man that Beat icon William S. Burroughs dubbed “the Pope of Trash” offers a comprehensive retrospective of his entire career, dissecting his upbringing, his obsessions and his films.

In 2009, Waters performed “This Filthy World” as part of the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival.

He’ll speak Feb. 25, 2014, at the historic Fremont Theatre, 1025 Monterey St. in San Luis Obispo. Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 at the door.
