Soulful singer-songwriter Michael McDonald is takin it to the streets of San Luis Obispo next spring.
McDonald recorded four albums with jazz-rock band Steely Dan, singing background vocals on songs such as Black Friday and Peg, before joining the Doobie Brothers in the mid-1970s.
His unique voice, heard on hit singles "Minute by Minute," Takin It To The Streets and What A Fool Believes, became part of the bands new soft rock and soul-influenced sound.
McDonald further established his reputation as a singer, keyboardist and songwriter in the 80s and 90s with solo hits such as I Keep Forgettin and duets including On My Own and Yah Mo B There.
More recently, hes recorded two Motown albums, a couple of Christmas albums and a Grammy-winning crossover album, 2008s Soul Speak. He released an EP with guitarist Robben Ford, "Unfinished Business," in May.
