Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said Susan and Micki Kozushek bought the Coverings building. The couple is renting the space.

Retail boutique Coverings is tentatively set to reopen in San Luis Obispo in February under new management.

The store closed its doors in November after longtime owner Leslie Cameron died in September. Located at 760 Higuera St., the “high-end boutique” had been a fixture downtown for nearly 20 years.

Coverings’ new owners are local entrepreneurs Susan and Micki Kozushek, who co-own cycling accessory company Lezyne. They employ 40 people in San Luis Obispo.

The couple took ownership of the business Dec. 1 and signed a new lease for the space, according to a spokesperson.

Coverings will overall be similar to how it was under Cameron's ownership, carrying most of the same brands in denim, handbags, shoes, jewelry and clothing, but the new owners will add some brands too, she said.

The 4,000-square-foot space is also undergoing some renovations to give it “an updated, fresh look for its customers,” according to a Coverings news release.

Renovations are expected to be completed by February.
