High winds prompt one-week delay of Morro Bay Lighted Boat Parade

Popular event will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 14

The Morro Bay Lighted Boat Parade, originally planned for Saturday night, has been postponed a week because of expected high winds. It will now be held Dec. 14 at 6 p.m.

Organizers say that gusting winds of up to 40 miles per hour and steady winds up to 25 miles per hour are anticipated Saturday, making conditions unsafe for boaters.

The Morro Bay tree lighting, also planned for this weekend, will still happen Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the city park.
