Bonds no easy answer

CambriaDecember 5, 2013

How long has this problem at Cuesta been brewing? Why, all of sudden are already overtaxed community citizens just now hearing about this? Why are multimillion-dollar buildings being built today on both of Cuesta’s campuses; what about the maintenance and upkeep of those in five years — more bonds?

Has anyone been to Grover Beach Elementary School lately (and most other schools in our county) where significant safety issues exist because of the “deferred maintenance” budgets being depleted for “other purposes”?

If we think for a moment that bonds are the easy answer to every need, we are sadly mistaken. Floating yet another bond for a temporary fix, at this time in our “so-called” recovery from a near-depression era, is not what anyone wants to be saddled with at this time.
