Founding beliefs

NipomoNovember 27, 2013

Bill Denneen is skilled at changing a single word to revise history to fit whatever he is trying to sell. Sorry Bill, this country was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs with freedom “of” religion, not “from” religion.

You have the right to not believe in any god; however God is referenced in most of our founding documents and by most of our prominent leaders.

Washington referred to “Laus Deo,” Lincoln: “one nation under God,” Jefferson: “God who gave us light gave us Liberty,” and the list goes on. They all used this reference in public meetings and places.

Freedom of religion means no sectarian reference.
