Paso Robles High School news magazine honored

Paso Robles High School’s Crimson Newsmagazine recently placed sixth in the news magazine division at the 2013 National High School Journalism Convention in Boston, the school announced.

Competing against 400 schools and 5,500 students at the statewide convention, the Paso Robles High publication placed in the top 10 for the seventh time since 2008. Meanwhile, several Paso Robles students were recognized in individual competitions.

First-place awards went to junior Carly Cargill for feature writing, senior Sydney Matteson for advertising design and senior Jordan Nevosh for infographic design. Second-place honors went to junior Danae Ontiveros for logo design. Third place went to junior Amy Cantrell for editorial writing, junior Matt Tyra for sports writing and senior Angela Lorenzo for layout.
