Judy Mahan, who had been assistant director of the Cal Poly Small Business Development Center, will serve as the center’s interim director.

She replaces Thea Chase, who left the center in October to lead a recreational business mentoring program, Telluride Venture Accelerator, in Colorado. Mahan has worked for the SBDC as a legal consultant and a manager since 2011. Before that, she served on the Morro Bay Parks and Recreation Commission for four years.

She has also had extensive international experience, working as a special assistant to the president of the Federated States of Micronesia and as senior manager of trust and corporate services for the Pacific International Trust Company in Vanuatu. She holds degrees from the International School of St. Germain-en-Laye and the Paris West University Nanterre La Defense.
