Arroyo Grande High girls tennis team earns regional bid

Eagles will open CIF-Southern California Regional on road against second-seeded Torrey Pines on Tuesday

Arroyo Grande High’s girls tennis team has been chosen to play in the CIF-Southern California Regional, the Eagles announced Sunday.

Arroyo Grande will open the regional against second-seeded host Torrey Pines at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The Eagles were the 15th team out of 16 schools across multiple sections in California to be invited to the exclusive regional.

Arroyo Grande won the first section divisional title in program history with a 9-9 (77-74) win over Murrieta Valley in the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 final Friday in Claremont.
