Screening of 'Big Ass Spider' in Arroyo Grande to benefit Boys & Girls Club

A creepy, crawly new horror movie is coming to a theater near you.

“Big Ass Spider” will screen at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fair Oaks Theatre, 1007 E. Grand Ave. in Arroyo Grande. The special screening is being sponsored by Western Exterminator Company, which plays a prominent role in the film.

Like “Arachnophobia” and “Eight Legged Freaks” before it, “Big Ass Spider” deals with deadly arachnids.

When a giant alien spider escapes from a military lab and starts terrorizing Los Angeles, it’s up to a wisecracking exterminator (Greg Grunberg, “Heroes”), his bumbling security guard sidekick and a team of scientists to kill the critter in time.

All proceeds from Saturday’s screening will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Maria Valley and P.C.O.C. C.A.R.E.S. (Pest Control Operators Of California’s Committee Action Relief in Emergency Situations).

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5 apiece.
