North County Humane Society will host Pours 4 Purrs Wine Weekend from Friday to Sunday. During the event, many Central Coast tasting rooms will donate portions of their proceeds to NCHS.

In order for participants to donate to NCHS, they will need to pick up a “purrsport” from participating wineries or print one out at http://www.slonchs.org  .

Wineries will stamp visitors’ purrsports to verify they visited; after three wineries’ stamps, visitors will be eligible for a drawing of prizes.

Cat trappers sought

The Feline Network of the Central Coast urgently needs volunteers to trap feral cats for spaying or neutering.

Volunteers are needed in Nipomo, other areas of the South County and San Luis Obispo.

One person can make a huge difference in curtailing cat overpopulation. The Feline Network provides traps and training. A vehicle is needed to take cats to and from trapping sites and vet offices.

TNR (trap-neuter-return) programs have been implemented nationwide and have proven successful.

To volunteer, call Lynette at 556-0717 for Nipomo and the South County and Christine at 544-6138 for San Luis Obispo.

Feline Network adoptions are held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at Petco in San Luis Obispo.
