Three-time state champs L.A. Pierce top Cuesta in volleyball

The Cuesta College volleyball team pushed three-time defending state champ to L.A. Pierce to four sets Wednesday before falling 3-1 at home.

The Brahmas topped the Cougars 28-26, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.

Riley Cooks had 12 kills and 17 digs to lead Cuesta in both categories. Blake O’Brien handed out 23 assists.

For L.A. Pierce, Kira Guarino had 18 kills, Natalie Livermore had 10 kills, and Brooke Rudebusch handed out 43 assists.
